What is a crochet along?
A crochet along (CAL for short) is so much fun! At the surface, it is an event where a bunch of people get together and work through the same pattern at the same time! Looking deeper however, it can be whole lot more! A CAL can be an incredible experience, one that enables you to see many different versions of the same design. It also gives the opportunity for real time peer-to-peer assistance as you create, and that is some amazing interactive fun!
Have a problem? Stuck on a section? Simply ask in the crochet along chat and others are able to easily assist as all will be working on the same design! This is a great time and place to step outside your typical comfort zone and challenge your skill a little, while making friends and becoming part of a community of creative minds.
Betty the Ball Python Event Details!
The Betty CAL will kick off in our community Discord on Sept 1st and run through Sept 30th! Make sure to head on over, even if you will be sitting out the crochet along event, so you can follow along and see all the different versions of the same amigurumi shown off with their unique spin! With three included versions and a blank graph I just know we are going to see some amazing creations with this one! Plus our community is a wonderful little corner of creativity and we would love for you to join us!
You will need the Betty the Ball Python Crochet pattern! You can purchase a copy at Etsy, Ravelry, Lovecrafts or Amigurumi.com! Betty is an easy to intermediate level pattern. Read more about her pattern here! You do not need to make a magic circle to create her and she uses basic stitches. The colorwork is where she gains her difficulty however you can simply use a multicolor yarn to make her!
Betty uses worsted weight 4 yarn and a 3.5 mm hook
Ball pythons come in so many colors and markings (in fact, no two are identical!) from orange to brown and even lavender there are so many colors to choose, so let your creativity shine!
Betty uses 12mm safety eyes! You will also need stuffing and stitch markers.
As always, with any crochet pattern, the freedom of choosing yarns is part of the process. Have fun with your choices!

The pattern is available for purchase at all my pattern shop locations linked within the post above or found at linktr.ee/critterifficcrochet! However the crochet along event for betty, is only being held in my discord creative community. Discord is a mobile/ desktop app you can download and join for free at discord.com/ your mobile app store and then my specific server is linked in my tree as well 🙂
